RADCON Is Now Open in Atlanta
RADCON has opened a second shop. Our new Atlanta-area location at 3030 Plant Street in East Point, Georgia is open for business — bringing certified storm shelters, fire training structures, and custom container fabrication to the Southeast.
Same team. Same steel. Same standard. Now within driving distance of the customers who have been waiting on a truck from Indiana.
Why Atlanta, and why now
The honest answer is that our customers asked for it. Fire departments across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and the Carolinas have been buying training structures from us for years. Campgrounds and mobile home communities across the Southeast need certified storm shelters — and this region takes severe weather as seriously as the Midwest does. Contractors need job site offices and equipment enclosures that arrive when they're supposed to.
Every one of those projects used to start with a long haul from Anderson, Indiana. Freight distance adds cost, adds lead time, and adds one more thing that can go wrong between a signed order and a set unit. Opening in East Point removes that from the equation for an entire region.
What we build in Atlanta
Everything we build in Indiana:
- SAFETAINER storm shelters — ICC 500 certified, rated for 250+ MPH winds, PE-stamped for installation on concrete or dirt. A 20-ft unit shelters 30 people; a 40-ft shelters 60.
- Fire training structures — burn rooms, multi-story towers, and forcible-entry props designed alongside the training chiefs who run the evolutions.
- Container homes — from efficient single-container dwellings to multi-story architectural builds.
- Custom modifications — job site offices, container restrooms, equipment enclosures, guard booths, mobile workshops, spray foam insulation, liquid containment, and one-of-a-kind builds.
- Power Flush sanitation units — self-contained, internally heated, built like equipment instead of a trailer.
What doesn't change
We're still the fabricator, not a broker. Every unit is designed, welded, wired, and finished by our own team — with structural steel capability through our sister company, RAD Fabrication, and a licensed Professional Engineer on staff who stamps the drawings your permitting office is going to ask for.
That matters more in a new market than an established one. When a Georgia fire chief or a campground owner calls us for the first time, they're not taking a leap of faith on a rendering. They're buying from a shop that has been doing this for 40 combined years and can show them the certifications, the drawings, and the departments who bought a phase two.
“RADCON is the Legos of the burn building world — options that fit all budgets that can be expanded later as the budget allows.”
— WILL GOVER, DEPUTY CHIEF OF TRAINING/SAFETY, NICHOLASVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT (KY)
Southeast storm season is the real deadline
If you own or manage a campground, RV resort, or manufactured home community in the Southeast, this is worth a conversation before the next severe weather season, not during it. Guests in tents and RVs have zero protection when a warning goes out, and manufactured-home residents face the highest tornado fatality risk of any housing type in the country.
A SAFETAINER installs in hours on the ground you already have — no excavation, no poured foundation required. Send us a site map and our engineer will recommend unit count and placement, free.
